Abstract
Home movie footage taken by Rhodes Patterson during his time as a reconnaissance photographer based in India and the Northern Mariana Islands during World War II. Includes shots of soldiers loading on to a train and footage of Tinian military base barracks and aircrafts during takeoff, in-air, and landing.
Description
Opening shot of soldiers boarding a train and waving from the windows as it leaves the station. Shots on the military base of aircraft takeoff and landing on a runway. Aerial shots in airplane cockpit of landscapes and war plane formations midair. Shots of the "THUNDER BIRD" aircraft. Shots of military base and tents. Travel to another location by air, where soldiers are greeted by a sign reading "Welcome Hellbirds."
