Abstract
Home movie footage taken by Rhodes Patterson during his time as reconnaissance photographer based in India and the Northern Mariana Islands during World War II. Features footage of daily life in the barracks, including shots of troops buying items at the commissary, and of troops swimming, sunbathing, and skinny dipping on a rocky outcropping by the sea.
Description
Intro shots of barracks on the military base in Tinian. Shots of troops buying items at the commissary and sawing wood. Next ~6.5 min are shots are on a rocky beach, where soldiers swim, sunbathe, and skinny dip in the ocean. The film concludes with scenes back at the base, including views of the 58th Wing Photo Lab.
