Abstract
Home movie featuring Alex and Penny Mandusich of Skokie, IL visiting Alex's large extended family in the village of Sredska, Prizren, Kosovo (then part of Serbia), around 1971.
Description
Begins with a large group gathered outside a small church called Bogarodica ("Holy Mother of God"), a short distance from the home where Alex Mandusich was born. The surrounding mountains are the Shar Mountains; the pinnacle is about 8000 feet above sea level. Down the hill from there is the Mandusich home of white stucco and stone. It was built by Alex’s father Jake Allex Mandusich, who was awarded the Medal of Honor from the United States during World War I. On the steps of the home Alex is embracing his cousin Jelena Mandusich. Alex’s cousin’s son Goyko was filming.
