Abstract
A documentary following Jack Tranter as he runs his first marathon, the 1977 Mayor Daley Marathon. It was also the city of Chicago's first modern era marathon, with 4,200 runners gathering at the foot of the Picasso sculpture in Daley Plaza to run 26.2 miles through downtown and neighborhood streets—organized, in part, by Tranter's wife Erma. The annual race has since been rebranded as the Chicago Marathon.
