Bunker Ramo Composite

You're fine.

Right now you're perfectly dead center between this machine and this machine behind you.

Mike? Huh? Look at your face.

Would you do me a favor? Would you check it with a flat plate? When a company grows as fast as Bunker Ramo, people have trouble keeping up with who you are and what you make.

That's why Bunker Ramo produced a series of commercials for nationwide television.

They're the first television commercials in the company's history.

And these first Bunker Ramo commercials contain a very special ingredient that makes them different.

Many companies use famous people in their commercials, but Bunker Ramo decided to use an employee, Phoebe Williams.

Phoebe works for the Amphenol Sam's division in Chatsworth, California.

You know, accidentally or something, it happens to be nice in the first one, so that's why we shoot them off.

But I'm not counting on anything before five or six or seven or eight from now, okay? And then we're shooting you and just one machine much tighter, okay? All right, stand by.

Here we go.

Let's try another one.

Brokers, broke.

If he has one of these on his desk, I'm Phoebe Williams and my company, Bunker Ramo, makes And since she really knows the company, she gives the commercials a feeling of believability not always found on television.

My name is Phoebe Williams.

I'm Phoebe Williams.

I'm Phoebe Williams.

That really is my name and I work for one of the Amphenol divisions of Bunker Ramo.

Bunker Ramo asked me to tell you about their electrical connectors for aircraft, their electronic car clocks, their stock rotation systems and other products.

Lots of companies use famous people for their commercials, but Bunker Ramo decided to use me, an employee, someone who really knows about the company because that's the kind of people we are.

I'm Phoebe Williams.

My company, Bunker Ramo, is making a new interconnection system that's going to squeeze these 12 ,000 phone lines into a quarter their size.

That'll make hooking up new phones a lot quicker and easier for all of us, but putting important things into small places isn't tough for Bunker Ramo.

Ignition, probe heat, warning lights.

Checked.

Taxi checks complete.

Here in this jumbo jet, thousands of our Amphenol connectors squeeze into critical systems that keep the pilot in touch and in control, even at sub -zero temperatures at 42 ,000 feet.

Our connectors hold up, just like the mini -computer we make for production lines or the electronic clock we make for cars.

CWA 60 ready to take off on 25.

You know, out of this whole cockpit, there's one thing they're going to let me touch.

Isn't that a goodie? Got to leave people with the feeling that Bunker Ramo is a company that uses its employees because it's an unusual kind of a company.

It wants people to know what they're talking about.

It's a company that has personality and warmth and friendliness.

You're like, you know, going over the road watching these guys operate.

Maybe watching a guy using a System 7 while I'm saying.

That's just one kind of information you get on System 7.

Bunker Ramo can't guarantee all your stock news will be good, but we can make sure you get more of it.

I suspect that closing line will lend itself to some smiling little touch, somehow.

Sort of an aside.

Somehow, there's studies.

We can make sure you get them.

Something is going to work out on that, I think.

We're going to do a...

...

Okay, well when you do that, that's better.

Much better.

First, last two lines or something.

If it doesn't come across now, it's anything but a straightforward commercial.

But if you're talking about a copy change, then that's something we ought to fix right now.

We should have only this, and then I can say, that's just one kind of information you can get on System 7.

24, let me know.

All right.

People do a couple real quick, okay? Stand by the engines.

Roll sound.

Here we go.

Action.

I'm Phoebe Williams, and my company, Bunker Remo, makes this equipment, the System 7.

It gives you the prices on this automobile stock, for instance, on the New York, Pacific Coast, Toronto, and Montreal exchanges, as well as over the counter.

Sounds pretty complicated, doesn't it? But it's not for a company that makes mini computers for production lines and electrical connectors for jet aircraft.

Bunker Remo can guarantee that all your stock news will be good news, but we can make sure you get more of it.

This is 16 .75.

Very nice, very nice.

Okay, Phoebe.

16 .75.

We put Phoebe in a number of interesting places where she could tell people about the products we make.

Here's how it worked out.

Everything in industry seems to be big and getting bigger all the time, but some very important things are actually getting smaller.

My company, Bunker Remo, makes mini computers, like this one.

It solves problems while they're happening, in airplanes, in subs, or in steel mills.

We build it so that it can withstand almost any environment, no matter how tough that is.

Now this computer could actually be placed right on that crane and keep it running 24 hours a day.

Inside, there are microscopic circuits etched onto copper boards and stacked, like a hero sandwich or a stack of pancakes.

My name is Phoebe Williams and I work for Bunker Remo.

We make a lot of products that are small but important.

Connectors for picture phones or components for jumbo jets or mini computers like this one.

I said it was tough.

Boy, am I glad I was right.

When I tell people I work for Bunker Remo, they say, oh yeah, the electronics company.

They think of electrical connectors or mini computers.

But we're animal lovers too.

In fact, we love this $1 ,500 mint coat so much, our Borg textiles group copied it for $175.

And it's a copy so real that sometimes even fur buyers can't tell the difference.

Of course, that's not news to women who've been wearing our natural looking Borgasia or Borgana coats for years.

We do a lot of business in Europe too.

We make sure that there's a Borg fabric for every fashion trend that starts over there and ends up here.

Now designers have found that the deep knit colors and Borg fabrics are perfect for all kinds of things.

Furniture, bedspreads, draperies, pillows, even toys.

Say, not bad for an electronics company.

My company Bunker Remo makes the most accurate car clock in the world, the Borg electronic car clock.

It runs on a quartz wafer that vibrates two million times a second.

We make a lot of things people can depend on, like up to the second stock rotation systems, electrical interconnections for jumbo jets, and our electronic digital clock.

It's super accurate, right down to the second.

And that's nice, isn't it? Because there are some things you just have to be on time for.

Indications are that the message is getting through.

People are learning that Bunker Remo is a company of interesting products and interesting people.
