You Oh Oh Okay Kids sure have it easy Lots of fun all play no troubles nothing to worry about What do you mean kids don't have any problems every kid in this camp has problems They have cancer or some other kind of disease And it's worse than most people My name is Lou Ali I Have been fat it became you and I've had it for a year and a half Doesn't bother me that much The only reason it does is because I have my mother my father's keep me happy and that I'm here at camp We want to keep it going I was diagnosed with cancer rhabdomyo, so karma and They treated me with chemotherapy radiation Simon says make a funny face again.

I Had rhabdomyo, so sarcoma, I'm blind in my right eye and I've got peripheral vision in my left eye I Didn't really know remember much from Going when I had the cameo I was going to the hospital.

It was like I lost my memory Did the kids make fun of you? Yeah, oh, no sometimes yeah, but mostly I wore a wig Oh My illness is leukemia and I had since I was eight I'm 13 now And I had a relapse two years ago and I'm off all my medicine except the penicillin because had my spleen took an out Well I had a lump below my knee and I couldn't run because it hurt so bad So my mom took me to the doctor and after about four days of testing When I couldn't walk on my leg at all They took a biopsy of it and then they Took me to a different hospital where they took some more tests for about a week I Had a weekend pass and then about four days later.

They amputated my leg They told me that my disease was osteogenic sarcoma, which means that I had bone cancer.

I had the amputation and chemotherapy and I start about four more treatments of chemotherapy left The camps really fun it's You know it makes you feel like you can do things By on your own not having your parents leading you around or something activities you really like your volleyball and arts and crafts I like fishing and Basic water rescue, I'm very happy with my life To me once you get used to it, you know things aren't Much different than they were before I got sick.

My father said that I could work for him When I get older if I can't if I can't find any other job And My parents I they're having a really tough time getting used to this So I have to I always try not to complain and I was trying to do better so that they don't Feel that I'm having a tough time Because they don't know how I feel and when this happens all I do is I just keep it to myself And if I have friends around I tell them about it it just gets over with pretty soon it never lasts as long as as other things would like Embarrassing moments or anything this permanent leg Which is held on by suction and when they first put it on I didn't think I'd ever get my leg out again because it just Crung so hard and they gave me a belt to use at first that was hooked around the waist and Then when I got used to they had my dad take it off Well it doesn't have too much effect with my true friends, but yeah, there's lots of people that stare and The little kids are the ones that make the most comments, but I don't mind it and you know it I really don't Because they don't have what I have and then there's not that many people that have it And they they just have to figure out what's going on In your head take one hand out Fine so take both hands down, but keep your funny face.

I like camp a lot.

It's really fun It's it gives you something special to do instead of sitting home Not having much to do it all we had a swimming test that we have to take before we can go in a canoe and There's a girl named Patty that passed it and there's also two boys and myself that passed it Well, I was scared to take the swimming test at first But when I got in the water it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be I So the activities are vibe are arts and crafts.
