Abstract
Black and white outtakes featuring Harry Truman at a press conference and making a speech.
At the press conference he answers questions about the US intervention in Lebanon, the 1960 presidential election, and a controversial recent election in Arkansas. It is possible the Arkansas election refers to Governor Orval Faubus being re-elected in 1958. He was famous for denying the Little Rock Nine entrance to Central High School with the use of the National Guard.
Truman’s speech is in reaction to a summit meeting to take place between the USA and USSR. He discusses the need for the USA to create a strong economy in order to build up their defense, which is what the Russians are doing.
