Description
Ruth Page conducts an informal tour of her home at 209 East Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, an apartment she has occupied since the early 1970s. The tour, staged for use in the documentary, Ruth Page: Once Upon a Dancer, is broken into several sections, with several takes for each section.
FOYER: Ruth Page enters from the rear of the apartment into the entrance foyer and discusses the murals painted by her second husband, artist André Delfau, depicting many of her "favorite people": Margot Fonteyn, Harald Kreutzberg, Rudolf Nureyev, Larry Long, Dolores Lipinski, Patricia Klekovic, Kenneth Johnson, Orrin Kayan, herself, critic Claudia Cassidy, and a self-portrait of the artist.
LIVING ROOM: Ruth Page points out drawings of herself by Noguchi, his sculpture of her in Expanding Universe, her collection of sea shells, paintings by Delfau, posters by Toulouse Lautrec, a statue of Ruth Page as Columbine by Derujinsky; the view of Oak Street Beach, Lake Michigan and Lake Shore Drive. She enters the "Tibetan Room" [study].
