Abstract
A self-described "party reel," this home movie compiles footage of Greg and Irene Rouleau goofing off and dancing with friends in the early 1950s.
Description
Begins with black-and-white footage of Greg and Irene Rouleau eating a candlelit dinner with two couples, the Hyetts & Normans, at the Rouleau home on Craite Ave in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. They drink wine, eat spaghetti, and mug for the camera. The women and one of the men perform (increasingly silly) dances for the camera. Now in more casual clothing, a man and a woman from the party are filmed in slow-motion goofing off in a bathroom. Irene eventually joins in the fun.
Now in color, the woman from the bathroom now dances in front of a Christmas tree while wearing a red nightgown. Irene starts dancing with her, and they playfully slap each other's bottoms and hike up their pajamas.
Now in Fort Madison, Iowa, Irene waltzes with a woman named Peg who is wearing a transparent nightgown. Next Irene dances with a man named Jim, and then Greg Rouleau, wearing a silk robe, dances with Peg. There is a lot of laughing as they try out different dance moves.
