Abstract
In “Barbeque,” the camera lurks around a backyard, recording a man grilling an assortment of meats and potatoes. The camera changes vantage several times: from intrusively in front of the cook to voyeuristically peering at the cook through the gaps of a fence. The short pauses its rhythmic record of meat glazing and prodding to chronicle the cook and another gentleman sitting, waiting, and drinking “Old Style,” before the cook returns to the grill tending to meats. These meats are seemingly the same as depicted in Elam's "Barbeque 2x."
