Abstract
Footage of a performance inside the North Shore Unitarian Church, built John Holland, with a later addition created by architect Ron Dirsmith in 1965. The church is located at 2100 Half Day Road in Bannockburn, IL.
The film captures men and women in leotards practicing a kind of dance utilizing candles. There are a few shots of the structure’s notable glass window and thoughtfully designed interior structure.
Ron Dirsmith grew up in the Lakeview community in Chicago’s North Side. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in architectural design. He would later design the Playboy Building in the mid-1960s, and worked frequently for Hugh Hefner.
