The Same Old Story: 3 Act Play With Epilogue
In Act I, a young man comes out of the woods. He is only wearing a primitive cloth covering. He is hit by a stick and throws it into a pond in disgust, but then discovers that he has gotten lucky: he has stabbed and caught a fish.
In Act II the young man tries to stab a fish in the pond again, but is frustrated to find that he can't reproduce his success.
In Act III, the young man sees a bolt of lightning in the sky. A fish appears on the ground in front of him, which he cooks.
In the "Epilogue," the film switches to color footage of the a young man in modern clothing, standing in front of an electrical facility holding a garden hoe. He waits for something to happen, checking his watch.
The end credits display an August 1970 Chicago Tribune front page collaged to display the title of the film and the names of the filmmakers. A few chunks of a stick of wood are on top of the newspaper.
