Abstract
Fragment from A Citrate Special, an unidentified "prank film" from the late teens or early '20s. This print is missing the opening credits and some scenes at the beginning.
Description
This print begins with the title card for a different comedy short, Izzie and Lizzie Ain't We Got Fun, but has been identified as A Citrate Special, a scatalogical comedy set on a film lot.
A movie prop man (Martin Wolfkeil) plays a prank by coating the set's apples in croton oil. The film's director (Thurston Hall) unwittingly takes a bite of one of the oil-coated apples and has to rush to the bathroom. All of the bathroom stalls are full so the director hides behind some bushes to find relief.
