Easter 1956 and Communion
John McNaughton and his cousin Pam McNaughton walk down the sidewalk, likely in front of their grandmother Anne McNaughton's house, located near 113th and Forrestville in Chicago's South Pullman neighborhood. They are "dressed up" as if for a special occasion, likely Easter. Archie McNaughton picks up his daughter Pam in a bear hug while John and his mother Tillie stand nearby. They are joined by John's father Jack McNaughton (wearing the gray hat and red tie).
The scene changes to the home of John's maternal grandmother, Joanna Madura, located near 120th and Wallace Ave in the West Pullman neighborhood. Grandmother Madura is seen standing outdoors wearing a pink apron with her granddaughter Maureen (holding a baby, with a red flower on her black dress). In a similar shot, Grandmother Madura is shown with her daughter Tillie McNaughton. Next, Tillie's three sisters are shown in the same yard. From right to left, they are: Catherine, Alyce, and Joan. They are all stylishly dressed and smiling. They are standing in the yard of the house they grew up in. In the next shot, Joan is shown with her husband, Joe Wolek.
John's cousin Pam McNaughton is shown wearing a white communion dress, standing outdoors. Various unidentified children and adults are shown, as Pam wanders around in her communion outfit. John's paternal grandmother, Anne McNaughton, is shown wearing a white veil. Anne's sisters and daughter Margaret are also present. Everyone in the family appears to be dressed up for a special occasion. The film appears to be shot as they prepare to depart from the house.
The end of the reel shows a group of unidentified children horsing around outside, attempting to do headstands on a sunny day, possibly a little later in the Spring than the rest of the reel.
