The scene changes to the small back yard of an apartment building, likely in Chicago's Roseland neighborhood. The camera is looking down into the yard from above. There is a baby buggy in the yard. Two children — likely neighbors of the McNaughton's — are playing in a wading pool. A woman in a white summer dress brings buckets of water down the stairs of the apartment building to add to the pool. The children in the pool look up and wave at the camera. The camera turns to some other children, who are riding bicycles in a paved part of the yard.
The scene changes to Kiddyland, an amusement park once located at 95th Street and Crawford Avenue (now called Pulaski Road) in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Unidentified children, likely friends of the McNaughtons, ride on train and airplane themed amusement park rides as well as both live and mechanical horses.
The scene changes to a swimming pool. Jack McNaughton performs a series of fancy dives off a high diving board at a swimming pool. Children, including McNaughton relatives, play in the shallow end of the pool. The location is possibly Green Lake in Calumet City, Illinois.
