This is Virgin Prairie Land, untouched by man.

When the first settlers came, it stretched across Illinois as far as the eye could see.

Prairie land, a fertile land for rich harvests, a source of plentiful game, a place of beauty.

Now this remnant, which is only a few miles from Chicago's Loop, is almost all that remains of the original prairie.

It contains 300 species of plant life, nearly extinct elsewhere.

Only you can save it.

Please send contributions to Prairie, Box 59317, Chicago 606 -59.

One of the last remnants of Virgin Prairie Land lies only a few miles from Chicago.

This land contains almost 300 species of plant life, nearly extinct elsewhere.

From this living museum and laboratory, we and our children can learn about our past heritage and prepare for future needs.

We need your help to save it.

Okay, Harry, hit the projector.

This is our next target, Virgin Prairie Land, one of the last pieces remaining near Chicago.

Hey, what's that? A rabbit.

Oh.

Now let's see.

300 species of plants, nearly extinct elsewhere.

Looks desolate.

No profit in it.

Now what can we do with it? I don't know.

What about a farm? Knock down the trees.

It's good soil.

If you have a farm, you need a highway.

What a great place for a gas station.

Yeah.

And home.

A housing development.

Prairie Land Manor.

Good.

If you have houses, you need a shopping center.

Good labor force there.

Let's build a factory.

Where do you go space utilization? Ah, tall buildings.

Yeah.

Sports arena.

Airports.

Insurance companies.

Field plants.

That's a great stretch.

Help save our prairie.
