Abstract
Home movie partially shot by comedian George Kirby, featuring behind-the-scenes footage of a taping of The Mike Douglas Show.
Description
Film begins with footage of an airport tarmac, followed by a sign for Huron, SD. Now in Philadelphia, a crew sets up a partial bowling alley in the street outside of a television studio. Opera singer Roberta Peters waves to the camera. Inside the studio, Tayla Ferro and the Walter Wanderley Trio rehearse for their performance on the September 29, 1967 episode of The Mike Douglas Show. They change their clothes and perform for the cameras. The rest of the episode's panel of guests (anthropologist Ashley Montagu, Peters, champion bowler Dick Weber, and comedian Pete Barbutti) sit on a row of stools and applaud as entertainer George Kirby presents host Mike Douglas with a large painted portrait.
