Abstract
Professionally-shot 35mm film depicting the wedding of Henrietta Glick and Melvin B. Deutsch in Chicago. According to the couple's granddaughter, the wedding took place in a mansion on Chicago’s north side, possibly around W Belden Ave near the lake.
Description
Henrietta Glick and Melvin Deutsch walk down a tree-lined street in their wedding attire, followed by their wedding party. The crew poses for a group shot; the women hold bouquets of flowers. The couple kisses as the camera pans to capture the group of fourteen. Close up of the bride and groom smiling, then kissing and laughing. The group then races down the sidewalk to a Studebaker; there is a large sign affixed to the trunk, reading "Just Married / Henrietta Glick / Melvin Deutsch," with a cartoon of a man and woman. Henrietta and Melvin climb in the backseat and kiss, then glance up at the camera before pulling down the blind for more privacy. The car drives off down the block before returning. The camera then lingers on Henrietta's wedding attire: a short-sleeved, floor-length white gown with a long tulle veil and elaborate headpiece. The groomsmen playfully shake hands and congratulate Melvin, roughly patting him on the back. The group poses on some stairs before the film ends.
