Well, just exactly what is your reason for being in Seattle, Mr.

Grady? I'm in Seattle to talk to the 70th anniversary luncheon of the Chamber of Commerce.

And while I'm here, I'm talking this evening to the annual meeting of the YMCA.

Somewhat of a full schedule.

Well, I understand, Mr.

Grady, that you're going back to Washington a little bit later on this month to appear before the House Committee on Banking Currency.

They're going to consider the extension of the Defense Production Act, which expires on June 30th.

Well, just exactly what is the NAM's attitude toward the act? We think it ought to expire on June 30th and that it should not be renewed.

Well, now you were talking about appearing before Chamber of Commerce lunch.

I believe that the topic of your talk is now Call for Freedom.

Would you care to elaborate a bit on that, Mr.

Grady? Well, I'm concerned about the apathy of the American people.

While we begin to see some activity now with the political campaigns going on, it seems that there is not enough concern on the part of the American people about the loss of their freedom.

This wasteful, extravagant expenditure of the government, when you mention a mink coat, you get a laugh, but you don't get enough indignation, it seems to me.

And so I'm going to try to arouse the people in Seattle to having a little more concern about their freedom.

Well, in talking with you here, I would say that you're just the man to do it.
