A parade, possibly celebrating India’s Independence Day, marches away from the closing Michigan Avenue drawbridge and into the Loop; attendees gather at Taste of Chicago; a unicyclist juggles flaming torches near Buckingham fountain; Pope John Paul II holds an open-air mass in Grant Park on October 5, 1979; the St. Patrick’s Day Parade queen contest finals occur in the international ballroom of the Conrad Hilton Hotel on February 25, 1977; Highland Games assemble in Grant Park; the Country Fair For City Folks features a stage performance; Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, and others perform at the Chicago Blues Festival; Sikh supporters rally along N. Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago against the Indian Army’s Operation Blue Star attack on the Golden Temple of Amritsar; scaffolding covers the front stairs to the Museum of Science and Industry; Freemasons parade along N. Michigan Avenue; interior and exterior footage depicts the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
