Abstract
Silent footage of the Logan Square neighborhood (ca. 1980), beginning with Julia Lesage posing in front of various backgrounds and walking along the 2600 block of Milwaukee Ave, where a parade takes place. Also featured are shots of the California West-Northwest CTA platform (now known as the California Blue Line stop), a lively fair outside of St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, children playing basketball and baseball at Haas (Joseph) Park, and shots around Logan Blvd circling Logan Square Park, with views of people lounging in the park, the Logan Square Auditorium, and the Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church (aka Minnekirken). Notable businesses visible throughout include the Logan Theater at 2646 N Milwaukee Ave, the old Goldblatt building at 2778 N Milwaukee, Burger Inn at 2294 N Milwaukee Ave, Animal Kingdom at 2980 N Milwaukee Ave, and White Castle at 2001 N Milwaukee Ave. The film ends with JoAnn Elam and her dog meeting up with Julia Lesage to exchange Super-8 reels and a brochure for Elam's film Rape (1975).
