Date Of Production
October 1977
Abstract
Sound home movie depicting the Palazzolo family's 1977 Halloween outing.
Description
Film begins with footage of toddler Todd Palazzolo, dancing and babbling on the Palazzolo doorstep in Oak Park. Father Tom can be heard off-camera encouraging his son and asking him questions. Halloween decorations are hung on the door. Tom follows Todd around the yard with his sound camera as the youngster explores his surroundings.
In the backyard, Tom asks Todd to toss a ball to his older sister, Amy. This is followed by footage of children Trick-or-Treating in the neighborhood. A "con man" rings the doorbell at the Palazzolo house and a cat runs down the sidewalk. Tom's children Sarah, Amy, and Todd are accompanied by mom Marcia and some friends as they go door-to-door. Tom checks in on how much candy his children have collected. Todd trips on a curb and starts crying, comforted by Marcia.
