When he thought of her, he thought of her.

And thinking of her made him think of her.

And thinking of her made him love her.

And loving her made him think of loving her.

He loved thinking of her, and he loved the thought of her.

And he loved the way thinking of her made him think of her.

And he loved the way thinking of her made him think of how he loved her, and how he loved her still, and how he'd realized he'd love the thought of her more than he'd loved her.

She'd been thinking about him, and she told him she'd been thinking about him.

And he thought it was a good sign that she'd been thinking about him.

But he thought wrong.

She told him that she thought he loved her too much.

And she told him, she thought he thought of her too much.

And she told him she thought he thought of her too much She told him she liked him and she told him she liked only him but she told him she only liked him and she told him she didn't love him and she told him she could never love him and She told him she could never love someone just because he loved her because she could never love someone She only liked because that was like impossible to love someone you didn't love He thought over what she was saying as she was saying what she was saying and he thought he knew what she was saying as she was saying what she was saying And he thought he heard what she was saying as she was saying what she was saying But we thought back on what she had been saying He saw that he had been thinking when he should have been listening and he didn't know at all What she was saying when she said what she said and And then the waiter came and the waiter who came asked if that would be all and She answered without a moment's pause.

She answered without pausing a moment Yes, that will be all and he had always thought that that had been awful that that was just awful Because at that moment he had been thinking at that moment He had been thinking that he would have loved it if at that moment time had frozen if time had just stopped dead in its tracks With the waiter asking would that be all and with the two of them waiting to decide whether to answer yes That will be all or no We're not through yet and the two of them then could stay forever at this table in this cafe in this city Holding their thoughts and thinking of how much he thought of her and how much he thought he loved her and how much he loved Thinking of her and how thinking of her made him think of her You've got a narration that's got to go over there

Abstract
Thinking of Her is a meditation on love and relationships made by Tom Palazzolo's students at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Scenes of a couple’s breakup are described through a kind of poetic incantation written and narrated by Jack Helbig.
 
The film features extensive shots of Chicago’s lakefront, as well as the Lincoln Park Zoo.
