Abstract
This home movie begins with scenes of the Shannon family gathered at the dining table at their Ottawa, Illinois home. Daughter Beth kneels on a chair while the family looks over what appear to be family albums. Matriarch Mary and three of her sisters are shown.
The last part of the film shows the aftermath of the 1958 flood of the Illinois River and Ottawa High School workmen running pumps. On July 14, 12-hour rainfall amounts of more than 8 inches and 6-hour amounts of more than 7 inches were recorded. Flash floods caused extensive damage in the Ottawa area.
