It's one of the best times to have fun with the kids.

The kids enjoy it.

We adults enjoy it even.

We bought it on to a volunteer fire department.

We've been in it now since 1968.

It's about three miles long, but no matter how long it gets, it's so much fun.

That's the main thing.

The kids are so much fun, the looks on their faces, they enjoy it.

That's our unit over there, the little fire truck.

And it's a good number of men that at 26 minutes put it together.

That's one of our other men behind you.

As far as grades, it's one of the biggest and best around.

There's about 120 ,000 people view it.

Primarily a pet parade for children.

Yes, primarily.

We have our brass band, our Black Horse troop patrols, all the units.

The Elababa, we're with the Elababa and 40 Thieves.

And West Suburban Shrine Club.

The Shrine Club's from all over the Chicago area.

Well, my pets are guinea pigs and they're nice to have too, but they multiply a lot.

They're good pets.

Well, sometimes they bite and if you put it in front of their mouth, they'll bite you because they think it's a carrot.

And also they squeak if they want something or if their food is out or if they're frightened.

But if they're frightened, they'll stand still like a rock.

But they're nice, you know, they cuddle up to you, they purr.

It's a nice pet, I think.

Can you tell us about them? Well, this one is cuddles, galico.

Back here, they're rusty, brownie.

Hmm, which one is which? Oh yeah, this one is blackie and this one is midnight.

This one and this one were the first ones we ever had.

She is expecting some more guinea pigs.

We have had eight litters in five years and they multiply very, you know, like I said before, very fast.

So they usually get about five to six guinea pigs or more.

It can have more.

We've had a couple other guinea pigs in past but we gave them away.

Well, I live in Westmont, Illinois.

We had a pageant last Saturday night and we had modeling a bathing suit in a formal and we had to do a talent and we had to answer a question.

How long is it supposed to be, do you know? And we had an interview with the judges.

So we were both in it.

Hi, my name is Marcia Bradley.

I live in Downers Grove and I was also in the Miss Tinsdale pageant.

I came in second runner up and.

Yeah, this is the fifth place winner in this year's float contest.

It's an entry from the Sherwood and Community Lane area in LaGrange Park, made by the Savotas and the Mullins and a couple of other families in the neighborhood.

I think it's a wonderful thing for the children and it brings the neighborhood together.

Anything else you'd like to add? Oh, I think it, I think there should be more of these in different areas of the middle west especially.

We're the Turtleback Travelers, a camping group from the National Campers and Hikers Association.

We've been in existence about 12 to 14 years and we invite everyone to go camping.

We'd like to also emphasize that we are practicing and hoping everyone else will practice the pollution of the streams, the air, and the lakes.

We hope that everyone will cooperate.

We're trying to promote this in this particular parade and we hope that our turtle will be enjoyable to the youngsters.

How long have you had the turtle? This is a brand new turtle.

The turtle has its initial outing right today.

Well this is for the children of the Grange and they get their pets out.

They march down here and get costumes and they show off their pets and then they build floats and everybody comes out to see it.

The ones that are in are having a ball and the ones that are watching are having a ball.

We're dolls in the animal costumes and we're just following different cars.

We're going to have a show.

She was doing all the time things.

And I guess she just got so hot and everything that she just fainted.
