Black and white footage depicting the wintry streets of Chicago circa 1939.
Description
This film opens with a group of men shoveling snow into the bed of a truck and pedestrians traversing the sidewalks near the Chicago Hotels Club (505 N. Michigan Ave), footage of the Wabash Avenue Bridge and the adjoining stairs leading down to the riverwalk, pedestrians crossing Washington St and filing down the Civic Opera House's portico to attend a ballet, brief footage of the performance shot from the balcony, and concludes with several shots of residential blocks, neighbors walking along the sidewalks and children clutching sleds.
