Abstract
A short film showing a man with his camera in a mirror and different TV sequences (commercials, news, sports, etc.)
Description
A sequence of handmade animated title cards reads: "Hancock Productions Presents A Steve Hancock Film How to Test your New Movie Camera." A man looks at himself in a mirror and waves. The reflection shows him and his camera on a tripod. The camera zooms in and out. Someone comes up behind him. He demonstrates in-camera editing by making it look as if the person behind him has suddenly disappeared. There is a hand shadow and then a cut to the TV screen where we see many different segments of television programs, such as hockey, basketball, the weather report, breaking news, a logo for WLAK, and different commercials. The final thirty seconds of the film is made up of slightly out of focus footage of a man playing with a dog in a snowy yard.
