Abstract
Home movies shot in Lake City, Iowa, at Mervin LaRue Jr.'s in-laws, Floyd and Helen Wellington’s, house. LaVere (Wellington) LaRue would bring her family to visit her parents at the Wellington family home for part of each summer. A truck parked out front of the house includes a sign for "Wellington Roofing," Floyd’s company. LaRue kids Michèle ("Chell"), age 8, Jacqueline ("Jack"/"Jacqui"), age 5, and William Bryan ("Billy"), age 2, play with a fluffy dog outside, and Mervin Jr. can be seen interacting with young Billy. In 1956, Lake City celebrated the centennial of its 1856 founding with a parade, which is likely to be the one documented in this film.
