Abstract
Loosely assembled footage opens with the 18th annual Gay and Lesbian Pride Parade as it proceeds along Broadway and passes across W. Addison St. on June 28, 1987. Marching groups and floats feature the Lesbian/Gay Progressive Democratic Organization, the Illinois Gay & Lesbian Task Force, the Broadway Merchants Association, and the National Association of Black and White Men Together, as well as banners that promote the upcoming National March on Washington for Gay and Lesbian Rights on October 11, 1987. Succeeding footage shot in the Loop captures a variety of parade floats that include the Philippine Certified Public Accountants, the City Colleges of Chicago, and the St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital Center. The film concludes with footage of the second annual ChicagoFest on Navy Pier that ran August 3-12, 1979, and includes the Flying Karamazov Brothers as they perform at the Unity Savings Comedy Showcase.
