Abstract
Loosely assembled footage that includes a marching band as it crosses the State Street Bridge, St. Peter’s Church, Air Force and Coast Guard marching bands, the Polish Police Association of Philadelphia, and a parade float representing the Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce of Illinois. Concluding footage primarily shot on the University of Chicago campus includes the burning of an effigy of Robert McNamara contrasted with a war veteran watchfire ceremony, Mitchell Tower and Rockefeller Memorial Chapel, historian Studs Terkel as he delivers an outdoor speech, and teach-ins and protests against World Bank leader and former Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara’s reception of the $25,000 Albert J. Pick Jr. Award presented by the University of Chicago on May 22, 1979.
