Abstract
Footage documents former Senator Adlai Stevenson’s bid for Illinois governor and state Senator George Sangmeister’s bid for lieutenant governor during the Democratic State Central Committee’s slatemaking session held at the Bismarck Hotel on November 25, 1985, followed by footage of Mayor Harold Washington as he endorses a group of candidates including Jesús García and Luis Gutiérrez for a special aldermanic runoff election on March 18, 1986, and delivers a rallying speech to their constituencies.
