Abstract
Loosely assembled footage depicts Chicago’s downtown St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the South Side St. Patrick’s Day Parade, during their 1981 and 1982 celebrations. Participants include Green Beret Major General Michael Healy as grand marshal in 1981, Mayor Jane Byrne, reporter and First Gentleman of Chicago Jay McMullen, sportscaster Harry Caray, news anchor John Madigan, 1981 parade queen Kathleen Jordan, State’s Attorney Richard M. Daley, Secret Service agent Tim McCarthy and his family, chairman of the city’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade Edward Brabec, Governor James Thompson, 1982 parade queen Patricia Joan O’Connell, and the Shannon Rovers Irish Pipe Band.
