Abstract
Loosely assembled footage depicts Mayor Richard M. Daley as he presents Chicago Cubs Hall-of-Fame broadcaster Harry Caray with a certificate during a ceremony for Daley’s proclaimed “Harry Caray Day” outside of Caray’s restaurant on August 26, 1989; rapper General B speaks at a rally to support arts against censorship in Daley Center Plaza on August 26, 1989; the Mexican Independence Day Parade proceeds along Michigan Avenue; a rally against police brutality moves along W. 35th Street; Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 7 members picket for further union negotiations in Grant Park on November 18, 1989; a “Dr. Doom” army truck with a mounted simulated missile joins activists gathered outside the Rocky Flats Plant to protest nuclear production, and a fasting for Rocky Flats victims takes place at the Colorado State Capitol in July 1989.
