Laughter Four years ago, and when he started to work for me, during that time, and about three days ago, he kept doing more.

Laughter The next question reads, what plans, if any, have been made for an emergency housing shelter in the Lakeview area? To the first question, the second question I don't have to answer, because he was smarter and he didn't take it.

But anyway, in answer to the first question, because there has been a lot stated about the Hay Report, and the reasons that the city, we release at least 100 to 150 reports, and we release all reports, excepting for this one particular report.

This report, and it's in keeping with the City Council and the City Ordinances of the City of Chicago, the Hay Report deals with personnel, and personnel files have always been deemed to be confidential.

There are things in there in the report that deal strictly with personnel.

The Hay Executive Group released an executive summary, which every Alderman was given a copy of and was filed in the Municipal Reference Library.

But when it comes to dealing with the confidentiality of interviews in a personnel background, it is no different than if you wanted to go in and read about somebody at Marshall Fields or any particular corporation, and that is the right that we have been defending.

It has nothing to do with the official results of the Hay Report.

That was released by Hay and Associates in executive summary, that the confidentiality of a person's personnel record, we feel, belongs to the person.

...in his long, long career in serving the public of the city of Chicago, whether it was in the legislature, whether it was president of the Senate, whether it was when we served together on the Democratic National Committee.

Cecil has always done an outstanding job in bringing the views and the concerns and the cares of the community that he served to the forefront and worked hard whether it was in the legislature or the Senate.

Look at the place where Chicago blitzed.

I've never fattened my purse by even that much.

Christmas is one of these.

It's not a simple time.

I've always looked on Christmas as a good time, a kind, charitable, forgiving, pleasant time.

It's the only time when people open their hearts freely, the only time when men and women seem to realize that all human beings are rarely members of the same family.

And the being members of the same family, they owe each other some measure of warmth and solace.

Sawyer? Was he at the last debate? Did you ask him whether or not he was...

You stuck to the script? No, and I wouldn't bother to even respond to that tonight.

What we're talking about is economic development, the future of Chicago, jobs for the city of Chicago, and a 10 -year plan.

Mayor, how do you think you fared in this debate? Are you satisfied with the personal attacks that were levelled tonight by State Attorney Richard Daly? The purpose of this debate was to come about with your program on jobs, and I don't think personal attacks provide...

I know that there are long records, Cecil's and Ed's, the hour tonight of public service, not only in Chicago, not only as the city treasurer...
