And John, it's rather ironic that President Carter, who started out his term in office four years ago by granting amnesty to the draft resistors from Vietnam.
He's going to be ending his first four years in office by reinstating peacetime draft registration.

First, I'd like to say that I disagree with your views on that this is another lie as Vietnam was.
I believe that this program of registration was set up in the light of the event that occurred on the borders of Russia and Afghanistan and Iran.
I believe that the president had to raise the question of registration.
Now, advocates of pre -mobilization registration such as Carter also have been thesis as a symbol.
And I agree that symbols are important such as the UN condemning Russia's aggression.
What specifically? Like, I've been hearing a rumor around that if you're the only son of the family, like you wouldn't have to sign up for it or something.

What happens if they institute the draft, then there are the deferments and things of that sort.

I'd like to speak about the draft a little bit.
The people who fought in World War I and World War II, whoever they fought against, made it safe for our generation now.
So we're going to have to make it safe for future generations because we do live here and we can party.
Americans are cool but we can't let anyone push us around.
If we have the manpower there, maybe we don't have to use it, but just have it there to show other countries that you push America around then it's just not good.
Should we the people let our government push us around? Well, you know, we got freedom.
We can enjoy the land.
We can work where we want.

If we were over in Russia, they'd get drafted right out of high school and they have nothing to say about it.
I suppose we were fighting for freedom.
