Dearborn Street; the Oxford Pub’s 11th Annual Pallbearing Contest takes place in Oz Park on March 8, 1981; televised footage presents a Beatles concert; protests against nuclear weapons production; a notice advertises for a Greenpeace protest against commercial whaling held on the Chicago River, July 19, 1982; the United Irish & American Society of Illinois protests British occupation of Ireland in Daley Center Plaza; Richard J. Daley’s Christmas Parade moves along State Street; the Venetian Night Parade floats on Lake Michigan; the 1977 and 1978 Mexican Civic Society Parade Queens ride on their respective floats; Shriners parade along Michigan Avenue, presidential candidate John B. Anderson greets supporters along a parade route in Calumet City; the Flying Karamazov Brothers perform at the Unity Savings Comedy Showcase; a Christmas recital is held in Daley Center Plaza.
