And we won! Throughout the last four years of Harold Washington's term, this woman had close to 65 % of the support of the Latino community when she ran for mayor in the primary.
65%, no one will challenge that.
Yet the polls show her with less than 50 % of the support in the Latino community.
In that same primary, Harold Washington had less than 10 % of the support in the primary.
Now, we have to compare primary to primary.
Yet you're reporting that he's upward of 40%.
So obviously, if I understand the mathematics real clearly, her support, even according to your own erroneous polls, is going down, and Harold Washington's is going up.
Well, he's been in office.
Well, he's been in office, sure.
And he's had a good record in office, hasn't he? And one that we're going to portray accurately to the community.
I think the revisionist history of Jane Byrd is going to come to an end.
I think you've been doing somewhat of a good job at putting that out there.

Brought back vivid memories today of the mayor.

We had the privilege of playing for him just about five days before his passing at a Christmas party where he was so jolly and he led us in singing, O come all ye faithful.
And I remember him saying, have a Merry Christmas, Franz.
And then a week later, of course, he passed away.
But I had the privilege of playing for the wedding of two of his sons.
And they invited me up to their suite where he was sitting in an armchair with his family.
This was in the hotel where the wedding was being held just before the reception.
And he was sitting there with his shoes off.
And then he introduced me to every member of his family and to his priest.
He was just a great man.
And this brought back some wonderful memories today.
