We need to change the provision in current welfare policy, which frequently tells individuals on welfare that if they go back to work at a minimum wage job, they will lose Medicaid benefits for their children.

And they'll lose other benefits.

And when they add up what they have before they go back to work and what they would have if they did go back to work, they see a continuing economic benefit in staying on welfare rather than going back to work.

That ought to change.
