Loosely assembled footage includes depictions of the following: the Chicago Blues Festival; a Veteran’s Day gathering in Heald Square; televised footage of neo-nazis claiming a Supreme Court victory; the Chicago Mercantile Exchange; a fireworks show; a Jane Byrne winter holiday-themed stage event; Radio Expo Hamfest; Mayor Harold Washington and director of the Mayor’s Office of Special Events Lois Weisberg promote events planned in conjunction with Chicago’s “Sharing It Holiday” during a press conference at the City Hall-County Building in October 1984; Mayor Washington accepts a corporation’s donated check to clean the Victory Monument in Bronzeville; members of the Disarm Northrop Coalition and other anti-nuclear activists block a road leading to the Northrop Corporation’s Defense Systems Division plant on Disarmament Action Day, June 20, 1983; a “Help End the Arms Race” march and a separate military parade both proceed through the Loop.
