Abstract
Loosely assembled footage documents Mayor Richard J. Daley as he delivers a speech during a rededication ceremony for the 30-foot, 150-ton bronze statue of Swedish botanist Carl von Linne after its relocation from Lincoln Park to the Midway Plaisance on April 19, 1976; a performance by the Vanessa Davis Band, and appearances by Mr. and Mrs. Pac-Man and Mayor Harold Washington in Daley Center Plaza during Chicago’s sesquicentennial celebrations on September 12, 1983; a 3rd of July picnic in Grant Park, a speech by Washington, and an orchestral performance at Petrillo Music Shell.
