Abstract
Loosely assembled footage depicts musical performances by Dizzy Gillespie, Johnny Griffin, Art Blakey, Richard Davis, Randy Weston, and members of the Machito Orchestra on the final evening of the 6th Annual Chicago Jazz Festival held in Grant Park, August 29 - September 2, 1984. Footage also shows Mayor Harold Washington and fiance Mary Ella Smith socializing backstage.
