Loosely assembled footage depicts an assortment of music performances, parades, televised footage, and pedestrian activity.
Shots include the following: Mayor Jane Byrne attends Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade; contestants parade across the stage in front of a panel of judges at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade queen contest finals held in the international ballroom of the Conrad Hilton Hotel on February 25, 1977; televised footage shows a football game between the UCLA Bruins and the USC Trojans; televised footage shows a Smith Barney commercial; anti-abortion activists march along the sidewalk; Christian evangelist Nicky Cruz speaks at the “Washington for Jesus” youth concert at Robert Kennedy Memorial Stadium on the evening of April 28, 1980; Holy Rosary Parish parishioner march to nearby Smith Park in honor of St. Roch in August 1982; the Illinois Army National Guard participates in a street parade; lead guitarist Hoppy Niles, bass guitarist Joe Cetner, and drummer Larry Cornwall of One Arm Bandit perform at ChicagoFest on Navy Pier, August 10, 1982; city workers erect a Christmas tree in downtown Chicago; participants ice skate to Peter Gabriel’s “Shock the Monkey”; participants roller skate to The Knack’s “My Sharona”; the Olympic torch relay, shot animatedly on foot, proceeds along N.
