Abstract
Loosely assembled footage depicts the following: Mayor Harold Washington and director of the Mayor’s Office of Special Events Lois Weisberg promote events planned in conjunction with Chicago’s “Sharing It Holiday” during a press conference at City Hall in October 1984; the 25th Annual Chicago International Folk Fair presents a variety of handmade arts and crafts at Donnelley Hall, 411 East 23rd Street on October 20-21, 1984; The Day of the Dragon daylong festival hosts a kite fly in Grant Park, a lion dance on the steps of the Field Museum, and a fireworks show on August 12, 1984; the 11th Annual Fiesta Del Sol held in the Pilsen neighborhood features food, art, music, and the Mexican aerial ballet troupe, Los Voladores, on August 10-12, 1984.
