Abstract
Loosely assembled footage primarily depicts the 1988 presidential campaigns by Democratic candidates Congressman Dick Gephardt, Reverend Jesse Jackson, Senator Al Gore, Senator Paul Simon, Governor Bruce Babbitt, Governor Michael Dukakis, and former Senator Gary Hart, as well as Republican candidates Congressman Jack Kemp, Senator Bob Dole, Reverend Pat Robertson, and former Governor Pete du Pont. Shots include the Confederate Memorial Carving in Stone Mountain Park shot from a gondola; the Phoenix Statue in Atlanta, Georgia; du Pont as he plays miniature golf on the Des Moines Skywalk on February 7, 1988; the Second Division Memorial in Washington, D.C.; the 1988 Republican National Convention in New Orleans and the Superdome; the 1989 presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C., the Washington Monument, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Washington National Cathedral, and the White House; an advertisement for the Bangkok Cafe II in Chicago’s River North neighborhood; Babbitt’s bicycle tour through Iowa.
