Abstract
Rumpelstiltskin is Somersaulter-Moats and Somersaulter's take on the classic tale of a miller who boasts to the King that his daughter can turn straw into gold. After the King sends for the girl and demands that she spin a roomful of straw into gold, Rumpelstiltskin — an imp-like creature with a penchant for dealmaking — appears, and offers to help her in exchange for various goods. Years later, in order to get out of one of the bargains she made, the girl — now the Queen — must learn Rumpelstiltskin's name. Featuring hand-drawn watercolor animations and a zany title character, Rumpelstiltskin is one of several of Somersaulter-Moats and Somersaulter's interpretations of fairytales collected by the Brothers Grimm.
