Abstract

Wilding Picture Productions created this sponsored film for a division of the United Aircraft Corporation, Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. This is an orientation film for the division's new employees. The narrator describes multiple aspects of the employment process including the initial employment request, employee application, interview, and physical capacity test. The film further explains the company’s culture and community once the employees are hired. The Pratt and Whitney Aircraft community includes its own social club, school system, fire department, hospital, credit union, and guard force. Throughout the film, real Pratt and Whitney employees are seen in various settings from working in warehouse and office buildings to enjoying the perks of the social club sports teams. The film explains how once hired, employees become part of the Pratt and Whitney Aircraft team, where everyone works together.
