You be careful that you don't smash grandpa's pumpkin with that.

Here you go.

Susan? Yes.

I'll pull my head down there and get them a little farther up there now.

And get some of the big ones.

Here comes your opening.

Yeah.

Take the pumpkin.

Little Richard, you be careful up there.

These pumpkins are walking like marbles.

Oh no, I told you that was a good idea.

Get them off the ground.

In a pile, they don't keep any better.

Look out that way there.

They aren't anywhere near as good.

We usually plant about 12, 13 acres of pumpkins this size.

From the 10th until the 30th, we pick a wagon load every day.

And it's about five pounds of wagon.

And then on the weekends we pick about three loads a day.

The last week we got 21st, 22nd, 23rd, about October.

We got a couple of amazing days.

And all the moisture out there.

Not at all.

I got enough of them down there already.

The way they are, that's the way they're going to be.

Little Richard boy, you're working hard.

I'm going to kill the top of the mountain.

In the morning it was just fresh.

The Stiles always do something very special with some of their pumpkins.

They set up a display back at their stand here on Highway 32.

This film documents Stiles Farms, a family-run operation at 11717 Sheridan Road, Kenosha, Wisconsin, which Richard and Ruth Stiles started in 1950 as a five-acre vegetable farm and grew into 200 acres. Farm staff are shown as they harvest and heave pumpkins into a tractor wagon for the Halloween season. Footage also includes shots of the Stiles' famous annual pumpkin character display, visible to passersby on nearby Highway 32.
