Abstract
Silent news outtakes from 1958 capture singer and Army Private Elvis Presley reporting to his first day at Fort Chaffee after being inducted into the military.
Description
Surrounded by photographers, Presley is seen marching through camp to a testing center with his fellow inductees. We then see him unpacking in his barracks, and eating at a cafeteria. He is greeted by young fans as he departs a charter bus. He receives bedding and prepares his assigned bunk.
