What about the book champ what's it about? It's my whole life story the things that people don't know you know my life has been open book sports wise but things that happened before certain fights they don't know about spoke at a Klu Klux Klan rally in Val D 'Aosta Georgia in 1968 spoke to 300 Klansmen and they wanted me as a special guest and all the how that came about and why I win is in the book.

The Olympic gold medal something happened to me in Louisville Kentucky after I won the medal I didn't like it and I was so shocked and hurt through the gold medal on Ohio River it's possible that might not I'm not gonna say I'm gonna retire because I've said it too many times in a heaven for various reasons I'm still fighting I don't want to look spony and keep telling fairy tales so.

Well financially I'm in a shape now where I don't have to fight and image wise I couldn't come off no better than I looked in the last Fraser fight and it'd be nice to resign with that image and possible I might go one more and that'll be with George Foreman so we still thinking I don't know in about six months

Abstract

This footage depicts Muhammad Ali's book signing at Kroch's & Brentano's bookstore in Chicago.

Description

After asserting that he would not be accepting talk show or interview requests for at least a year, Muhammad Ali makes a rare public appearance on the occassion of the release of his autobiography/memoir "Muhammad Ali: The greatest, my own story" at a book signing at Chicago's Kroch's & Brentano's bookstore (29 S. Wabash Ave.).

This footage depicts the major public event with press coverage. He is shown sitting at a table, fulfilling a steady stream of requests from fans to sign books, and responding to a ABC7 reporter's questions regarding his book tour and some little-known life events that the book shares.

The book was co-authored by Chicago writer Richard Durham, and published by Random House in New York in 1975. The December 4, 1975 issue of Jet magazine featured a short article and photograph of the event, and reported that he sold 110,000 copies of the book in Chicago alone.
