Abstract
News outtakes depicting the Capital Airlines Strike of 1958.
Description
The film begins with an exterior shot of the Detroit - Willow Run Airport, which is now better known as the Willow Run Airport, located in the Van Buren Charter and Ypsilanti Townships.
The footage subsequently captures representatives from the Mechanics of Capital Airlines staging a strike just outside the terminal, near the tarmac. This is followed by a scene depicting the Capital Airlines counter inside the airport; a close up of a sign indicates that the office is closed due to the strike by The International Association of Machinists. The final shot is of a large billboard in the terminal featuring a handwritten apology from management to patrons apologizing for the disruption in service due to the strike.
